#The purpose of this study is to uncover the relationship between folk literature and classical literature, and to establishing a historical and artistic connection between them. The historical, descriptive, and comparative approach was adopted. The study is divided into an introduction, three main sections, and a conclusion. The first section discussed the emergence of folk literature, while the second section explored the characteristics and functions of folk literature. The third section dealt into the relationship between folk literature and classical literature. The study findings showed that the difference between folk literature and classical literature was primarily in style, and adhering to grammatical and morphological rules did not mean that the connection between them was lost. Moreover, the vocabulary of folk literature intersects with that of classical literature, and both were worthy of investigation.
