Linguistic and Semantic Connotations according to Al-Alamah Al-Bouti (A Theoretical and Applied Study).

Abstract

#The study in this research focused on explaining the division of linguistic meanings, both among the general public (speakers) and among the Hanafi jurists, into various classifications. This division was based on induction on one hand, and on the methodology followed by each group on the other hand.

The general public divided the meanings into explicit discourse and implicit discourse. The explicit discourse was further categorized into matching, inclusion, and commitment. The implicit discourse (conceptual) was divided into the concept of conformity and the concept of deviation. 

The Hanafi jurists divided the linguistic meanings into the clarity of expression, the hiddenness of expression, and the organization of expression. As for the rhetorical meanings, the research focused on explaining the statements of the scholars of principles (the general public and the Hanafi jurists) in various forms of rhetoric, including statements through action and speech, indication, symbol, writing, and others.

What Al-Bouti accomplished in this regard, and what distinguished him, was a new structure for linguistic and rhetorical meanings through his own specific categorization. This was done to gather the scattered issues of linguistic and rhetorical meanings and unify them into a single objective unit, making it easier for researchers to understand and access them in a clear and easy manner.
