The Effectiveness of Developing The Measurement Unit According to Mathematical Prowess in Developing The Understanding of Mathematical Concepts Among Eighth Grade Students

The aim of the current research is to develop and teach the unit of measurement according to the components of mathematical prowess and to verify the effectiveness of this in developing the understanding of mathematical concepts among the eighth grade students, The researchers adopted the experimental approach, the semi-experimental design based on tribal measurement, to verify the equivalence of the experimental and control groups, which consisted of (30) male and female students from the eighth grade students in the Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib School in the Directorate of Al-Udayn Branch, Ibb Governorate, The research materials consisted of the developed unit of measurement and the teacher's guide, and to test the research hypotheses, a test of understanding mathematical concepts was prepared and applied in the (measurement) unit. The results of the post application of the research tool on the experimental and control groups showed that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the students of the experimental and control groups in favor of the experimental group. This indicates the effectiveness of developing the measurement unit according to the satisfied ingenuity in developing the comprehension of mathematical concepts among the eighth grade students.
