This paper aimed to study odd utterances in the Holy Qur'an, in Al-Qalam (The Pen) Surah, discussed by Imam Al-Mobarred in his book The Complete in Language and Literature, compared them with those of tafsir scholars, collected them, and agreed upon the ones which were not collected. As a great encyclopaedia, his book was the most famous and estimated one among all his books. However, the author did not follow a certain plan in sequencing topics; they were arranged spontaneously, moving from a topic to another. The researcher started his paper with a brief introduction to Imam Al-Mobarred and his book The Complete in Language and Literature and concluded it with a number of conclusions. The most important ones are: Imam Al-Mobarred paid significant efforts in interpreting some Qur'anic verses, selecting his own interpretation from what was said of other's interpretations; he collected the content materials of his book from numerous resources as indicated in the beginning of his book; and his scientific method of agreement upon what seemed correct among other scholars' interpretations when the lack of collection between scholars' opinions was important. This was not possible unless surveying, collecting, and checking all scholars' opinions for identifying the correct one.
