The research aimed to shed light on the linguistic interpretation, its limits and place among the interpretive approaches, its permissible fields, and justification. The descriptive approach is followed. The research was divided into; an introduction, two sections; the first: the limits of linguistic interpretation and its fields, the second: the controls of linguistic interpretation and a conclusion. The results showed that: linguistic interpretation is one of the types of interpreting the Qur’an according to the language. It is not limited to explaining the meanings of words or linguistic structures, but rather includes them. Its criterion is that, it is compatible with the purposes of the speech, and what is appropriate for the speaker in accordance with the language law, as a preliminary stage of interpretation.
