This article aims to reveal the nature of the development of the acceptable Reading constraints among Reading’s Imams, specifically the one agreeing with Arabic. The study employs the descriptive analytic approach. It is divided into an introduction and three sections. Section 1 discusses the development of the constraints of acceptable Reading. Section 2 addresses the linguistic constraint in Reading, both reality and development. Section 3 presents and discusses the interpreters’ and linguists’ views pertaining to the linguistic constraining in Reading the holy Qur’an. It concludes that the scholars have great efforts in linguistic constraining Holy Qur’an, documenting its Readings, and governing it by prerequisite well-set rules and precise constraints by means of which the acceptable Reading is distinguished from poor, unacceptable or irregular Readings.
